These were shot on a farm in Paonia, Colorado. They are from one of the first rolls of film I shot on my old Hasselblad medium format camera. We stopped to spend the night at a lovely little Inn called the Fresh and Wyld on our family road trip to Telluride. Those two days set the tone for the rest of our trip which was filled with slow nature walks, cozy campfires, reading in the tent and playing in the rain. Oh the gifts of slowing down…they are endless.
This session truly made my heart happy. Documenting this sweet family spending time in nature, getting dirty and playing guitar together brought me even closer to my creative vision. I love the way the girls pull their dresses up when they dip their toes in the mountain lake. There is so much connection and feeling in a simple walk around the shores of this gorgeous lake. And then a mama moose and a baby swam across the lake and we all watched in awe.
Here are a few of my favorites from Julie and Erik’s lovely wedding in Boulder. I know, the groom has his eyes closed, but I love the real laughter. We had fun with portraits at a couple of locations around Boulder before heading to Flagstaff Amphitheater for the ceremony and on to the Boulder Country Club for the reception. Julie’s blue shoes are so adorable and Fiori Flowers in Boulder created a gorgeous bouquet.
