Mentoring for Photographers
If you’ve found this page, chances are you are already a photographer. Whether you are interested in a professional path or artfully documenting your beautiful, everyday life,  I am here to help.  My 20 years of diverse teaching experience and 12 years of owning a thriving photography business has naturally led me into the role of mentor. I would be delighted to help you develop your craft regardless of your experience or ambitions.
.
For 10 years, I have facilitated skills-based workshops for moms eager to record the story of family life. I created Photo Camp to serve this need. If you are interested in a group class setting, I teach a beginner workshop about once a year. Visit the website and sign up for our newsletter to learn about upcoming workshops.
.
In addition to Photo Camp,  I mentor individuals to expand their portfolios and launch successful wedding and portrait businesses. The possibilities of one-on-one mentorship are endless and our sessions are customized to push you in the direction you want to go. Our first step will be to clarify your creative and professional goals. Together, we will create a plan to ensure you learn the skills you seek, get helpful feedback, and most importantly have consistent support along the way.  Through  the process of mastering your camera, there is so much more we can explore:
.
-Building a photography practice into your daily life
-Letting go of perfectionism
-The nuances of lighting
-Finding your personal style
-Post production and editing
-Business development
.
I am so excited for you to take the next step towards following your creative passion. You are ready! Contact me to set up your first session.

TESTIMONIALS
“Julie is the reason I am the photographer that I am today.  From the moment I started working with her, a lifelong friendship and mentorship began.  She helped me to define my style of photography, how to edit and create a workflow that is most efficient and  how to interact with clients. I worked with Julie for nearly five years and she is still only a phone call away and more than happy to help me decide which lens to invest in, how to word a contract, or just simply bounce ideas off of.  I can not stress enough how incredibly talented and intelligent this woman is, you’re investment in a mentorship will not go to waste. You’ll become inspired and be properly equipped to venture on your own. ” – Beth
“After my one on one session with Julie I walked away feeling that not only had I grown as a photographer but I had gained a new friend. Her work is stunning and her mentorship reflects her depth of experience in the field of photography and her generous spirit as a person.”  –Dawn
.
I worked with Julie for a couple of years, taking in all the information I could on business, workflow, editing, communication, etc. And I learned A LOT. However, it was after I started my own business when I realized how much more I had learned from her. I watched the grace she gave her kids to be wild and free, her patience through her hardships, her interest to be open-minded and meditative, and her mentality to live every moment to its fullest. This influence has been equally if not more beneficial to me in my life than the photography skills she taught me.” – Meigan
